Our misssion

Serra- Schönthal Foundation

The Congregation created the Serra – Schönthal Foundation in the middle of 2013, as an open, plural and forward – looking tool in the service of women.

Its mission is the solidarity with women who exercise prostitution and / or are victims of trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, as well as the denunciation of structures that do not respect the Human Rights proclaimed by the United Nations, especially in situations of injustice and violation of women’s rights. (Statutes Article 5).

Its areas of action are: to promote and support projects to:

  • Integral care for girls, adolescents and women in the context of prostitution.
  • Promote community development aimed at the employment and social insertion of these women.
  • Encourage their empowerment and the ability to defend their personal and social rights.
  • Sensitize, train and influence the phenomenon of prostitution and trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
  • Funding to meet the needs of this type of project.

Objectives:

  • Sensitize, train and influence the phenomenon of prostitution and trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
  • Support projects to provide comprehensive services to girls, adolescents and women in the context of prostitution.
  • Denouncing situations of injustice and violation of women’s rights.
