To be Oblate
Oblates are free, welcoming, happy women, followers of Jesus, who live their vocation in the Church and in the world as a gift from God.
Usually you will find them in the neighborhoods where prostitution has traditionally been practiced. They live in small communities where they pray, celebrate and share life with girls, youth or women who engage in prostitution or are trafficked for sexual exploitation.

Oblate of the Most Holy Redeemer?
- Can I be oblate? If you feel that in this world there are many situations of injustice, especially those that women suffer, and intuit that God wants you to fully involve them, you could be oblate.
- Why be oblate today? Because there are still situations who need the voice of brave people who face injustice, where dignity is trampled it is necessary the presence of builders of a better world . Many people can do this, but the Oblate does it as an option of life, because she discovers that in that reality of prostitution and trafficking is where God calls to live the Mission with a shared project in community. - And you, why are you oblate? I am oblate because in my way of faith, the project of Jesus has called me. He invited me to follow him from vocation to religious life, on the path of liberating evangelization with women in the context of prostitution, and I accepted his invitation. The video Oblate is a way of being, expressed this feeling in a song.
- Woman, prostitution, Church, religious, Doesn´t it sound a bit weird? The oblate sisters want to transmit a God close to human realities, embodied in situations of injustice. Jesus was the first to recognize the dignity of every woman and therefore the Oblates follow his footsteps, continuing his work in favor of a more humanized world.

VOCATIONAL DISCERNMENT
With the desire to discern her vocation and to clarify the call of Jesus to give her life in a mission, the young woman contacts some community or project of the Congregation.
Through the accompanying search and participation in activities of the Oblate family, it identifies their choice of life. The young woman who feels challenged by Oblate religious life expresses the desire to take a step further in discernment, beginning the stage of pre-postulancy or aspirantate. It combines his life with the most intense approach to a community and mission. Encouraged to risk this challenging cause, she asks for the beginning of the Postulancy.
POSTULANCY
At this stage, the young woman goes deep in the call that God makes to her. In an Oblate community, a deep process of personal growth begins and in the light of the life of Jesus, clarifies his motivations and commits himself to know more closely the mission of the Congregation.
If she feels guided by God to express his Redeemer love for humanity, next to women and in Oblate religious life, she freely asks to enter the novitiate stage.
NOVITIATE
At this stage, the young woman prepares for a profound encounter with herself and with God. Study, pray and assume as its own the life and mission of Jesus, read it from the charism of our Founders. He falls more and more in love with the project that God proposes to her and, at the end of this process, makes a conscious and free choice to follow Jesus the Redeemer.
This stage strengthens self-knowledge, human and psycho-affective maturity, the roots of the congregation and its own spirituality, showing capacity and abilities to live in community and to commit oneself to the mission.
JUNIORED
After professing the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, the young woman is destined to an Oblate community, in which she has the possibility of developing her potential, leaving herself to be configured and interpellated by the community, the mission of the Congregation, the reality of social exclusion and the own charisma and spirituality.
In this community and accompanied by the formator, she is called to recognize the wonders that God accomplishes in her life, to respond to it with generosity and trust, and to consolidate her vocational choice as Oblate.
